Horsing Around

Having only been in Appaloosa Plains for a week or two, Anjel was feeling the pressure of not having enough money to do all the things that she needed to do.  So ... she splurged a little bit on ...

... a trampoline.  Oh yeah.  It was a great way to exercise.  It also was great for stretching the muscles that got cramped when she was sitting at her architecture drawing desk or standing still for such long periods of time when she went fishing, or the bending and pulling she did when she was gardening.  Good times!
She also visited one of the local bars for a little "adult entertainment".  She couldn't hang out with her animals all the time.  If she did, she would TOTALLY go INSANE!  O_o
Maybe she had already gone insane because she thought that someone was watching her ... someone who might have been ... a VAMPIRE.  Shhhh!  Don't tell anyone.
But that was ridiculous ... right?  RIGHT?!  There were no such creatures as vampires.  Vampires were only the product of a deranged mind.  Just like werewolves and ghosts and ... well ... ghosts were real.  But that was different.  Vampires were out of someone's nightmare.  They ... they didn't exist.  No, not at all.
And that DAMNED Ice Cream Truck was STILL stalking her.  Considering that this time it happened in broad daylight, Anjel did not concern herself with it too much.  Besides, all of the horses that kept passing by were enough of a distraction from the possibility of her "Death by Chocolate"(ice cream).  Seeing all of the horses reminded her that she, too, would someday like to be a horse owner.  It looked like such a glamorous thing ... not to mention a really cool pastime.  She would love to wrangle one of the three that she saw passing by her property, but the presence of a saddle dissuaded her - they obviously belonged to someone.
But early one evening after a rather disappointing round of fishing, she saw a WILD HORSE! Maybe if she was friendly enough with the creature, they could become friends and she could bring it home with her!
In hindsight, Anjel realized that it was probably not the smartest move to approach a wild animal without some sort of a game plan for how she was going to interact with it.
The poor thing DID look hungry.  Perhaps if she fed it something it would be a little less skittish.  Anjel rummaged around in her pockets to see what she might have available for a hungry wild animal.
Ah!  An apple!  The perfect snack for a hungry horse.  At first, the horse skittered away, but then after smelling the sweet aroma of the apple, it slowly, cautiously approached before munching away on the fruit.  It enjoyed it immensely!
Anjel thought MAYBE that would be enough to get the horse to trust her, but ... she was wrong.  This was going to be a lot harder than she originally assumed.  Maybe ... just maybe ... it would be easier going through a breeder at the local Equestrian Center.  She'd have to think about it because it was going to be expensive, and her pockets were empty.

If she wants to buy a horse from a breeder, she better settle down on something that will make her money, that's for sure!
